PSTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Paper 1 & Paper 2PSTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria has declared by State Council of Educational Research & Training, Punjab for Primary and Secondary stages. Candidates who want to become the teacher for 1st to 5th class they can apply for the Paper 1 or Paper 2 for Class 6th to 8th class. To fill the application form for both Paper-1 and Paper-2, candidates must have to complete their 12th class. If candidates belonging to SC or ST or OBC or differently able categories will get 5% of relaxation in minimum qualification requirement.

Candidates, who don’t have any of the following education, will not be eligible for Punjab TET 2018. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. they are eligible for the exam. Only those candidates will eligible for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test those have fulfilled the term and condition & education qualification.

Punjab TET Eligibility 2018 will be different for paper 1 and paper 2. If we talk about Physical Education Teachers, the minimum qualification should be according to NCTE guidelines. For Arts & Crafts, Home Science or other types of teachers, the eligibility should be applied according to State Govt. The below criteria is only for Language, Mathematics, Social Science, Science etc teachers.

PSTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility to become a teacher at Primary Stage (Class 1 to 5) – Candidates must have the minimum 50% marks at 10 +2 level for those candidates who have completed or pursuing in the last year of any of the following:

  1. Diploma Course in Elementary Education (2 years programme)
  2. Diploma Course in Special Education (2 years programme)
  3. Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education or B.El.Ed (4 years programme)

OR

Those candidates will be eligible who scored the minimum 45% marks in 12th class or its corresponding exam. Also, candidates should be passed or pursuing in the last year of Diploma Course in Elementary Education (2 years programme), as per the NCTE Regulations, 2002.

OR

Aspirants having graduation degree or pursuing the last year programme of Diploma Course in Elementary Education (2 years programme) will be eligible.

PSTET 2018 Eligibility for Paper 2 (Class 6th to 8th)

Applicants, holding the graduation degree and cleared or pursuing the last year of Diploma Course in Elementary Education (2 years programme), will be eligible.  Candidates should be graduation degree holder with minimum 50% marks. They should pass or appear in one of the following programmes:

  1. One year B. Ed Programme
  2. One year B.Ed – Special Education Programme

OR

Candidates must have graduation degree with no less than 45% marks. Also, cleared or pursuing the Bachelor in Education or B.Ed (1-year programme), according to the NCTE rules issued periodically in such manner.

OR

Candidates should process the 10 +2 or its correspondent course with minimum 50% marks. Also, cleared or pursuing the last year of either of the following:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education or B.El.Ed (4 years programme)
  2. A./B.Sc. in Education or B.A. in Education or B.Sc. in Education (4 years programme)
